Centre Manager / Head Teacher
B Ed (ECE)
I completed a Bachelor of Education (ECE) in 2006, and taught in Dunedin for a few years. After a break overseas I came back to Lake Hawea in 2010 and enjoyed working in ECE in Wanaka for 6 years until Mountainside Educare opened in February 2016.
Throughout my 10 (plus) years teaching in ECE, I have worked with all ages; infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
I believe in rich and meaningful relationships with the children and their whanau, established through honest, respectful relationships.
Grad Dip (ECE), B Arts
I moved down to Wanaka, from Auckland, at the end of 2015 and was lucky enough to get a job with the Mountainside team.
I originally graduated in Auckland with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Event Management. As I have always wanted to work with children I then went on to complete my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2015.
I worked at Kindercare in Auckland for a couple of years, before deciding to move down here with my partner.
I love working as an Early Childhood teacher and am proud to be apart of the children's development and growth.
B Teaching (Primary), B Arts
Originally from the North Island, on finishing school I moved to Dunedin to complete my degrees at the University of Otago. In 2009 I moved to Wanaka, where I have lived on and off ever since.
I have over 5 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education in New Zealand plus 2 years teaching in Scotland.
I love working with children and I have a special interest in active movement and outdoor education.
I started at Mountainside in July 2016.
B Ed (ECE - Primary Year 3)
I feel very fortunate for being able to work back in Wanaka and at such a special Centre. My family moved here when I was 12 and after completing my Bachelor of Education Degree in 2007, I came back to Wanaka to start my ECE career. After two years I moved to Nelson where I continued my passion working in Early Childhood.
I enjoy creating art, cooking, and gardening and love sharing these interests with children. I believe in building strong relationships with children and I am passionate about helping children find ways to express themselves as they continue their journey to become confident learners.
My husband and I have now settled back in Wanaka, with our gorgeous girl named Harper who loves coming to Mountainside Educare with me.
I began at Mountainside Educare in August 2017.
Dip Teaching (ECE)
I have been teaching in ECE since 2003 and have spent most of my teaching years in Southland. Moving to Wanaka in 2012 saw me teaching then managing an Early Childhood Centre. It was this role that made me realise teaching is my passion. I am so looking forward to getting back to doing what I trained to do, and what I love, at Mountainside Educare with your fabulous children.
My passion is creating beautiful, engaging and home-like environments for children and being outside in nature. I strongly believe children should have unlimited access to the outdoors while having uninterrupted time to fully explore, engage and awaken their senses...just as we did as children!
I feel very privileged to have joined this fabulous teaching team in September 2017. I live in Albert Town with my husband Barry, my teenage son Reilly and my dog Zoe!
I am originally from Quebec in Canada. After completing my certificate in travel and tourism I become an Au Pair and travelled all around Canada, Europe and Australia.
I came to New Zealand in 2008, married a kiwi and have 2 wonderful sons. I love Wanaka and wouldn’t change a thing in my life!
I love the flexibility of working at Mountainside and enjoy the balance of being a working Mum.
